Pembroke Welsh Corgi Characteristics
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is highly intelligent, dedicated and protective. In some cases, they have even lost their lives to defend their home. They are good “alarm” dogs, as they tend to bark a lot and are suspicious of strangers. Corgis are known for their friendly and playful personality and make great family pets. They are highly intelligent, loyal, able and willing to please its owner.
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi loves to please and is excited to learn new things. Although they are intelligent, they can also be stubborn and sometimes uncontrollable. Training them is usually easy, but they may have some difficulty learning to be at home. They are happy and good as family dogs.
They are also very active ad require plenty of exercise. Corgis are known for their herding instincts and may try to herd people or other animals. The Pembroke Corgi is the smallest of the two Corgi breeds, the other being the Cardigan Welsh Corgi.
They are bold, work independently and love having something to do. Although they are small, they are very active and need moderate exercise. They get along well with other pets and are good with children.
