Belgian MalinoisCharacteristics
It is a large herding dog with a strong, elegant body.
They’re tall and always alert, with upright ears and with short, smooth coat which comes in shades of fawn to mahogany, often with a black mask and ears.
The Belgian Malinois is a sought-after working dog. It is very smart, obedient and highly trainable. With his strong, powerful body, confident demeanour and loyalty excels not only in herding, but also in protection and law enforcement.
This breed’s gentle, playful demeanour and loyalty can make them a great companion but they aren’t always appropriate for families and children.
This breed is instinctively protective so Mals should be trained and socialized very well from an early age.
They don’t always get along with other dogs either.
Mals are highly energetic dogs with sharp minds and require plenty of daily strenuous exercise, mental stimulation and social interaction with their owners to be happy.
This breed is a great pick for an active, dedicated owner looking to spend quality time with their dog.
