English Cocker Spaniel Characteristics
With balanced and compact body shape, the English Cocker Spaniel is a gun dog breed, rooted in the hunting fields of North England.
Originally bred as working dogs for hunting, they have a strong work ethic and love to be active, whether in the field or during playtime.
English Cocker Spaniels are balanced in temperament and movement as well.
Merry and affectionate, the English Cocker Spaniel is an excellent family dog and easy to train.
This breed is gentle and patient with children. However, early socialization is vital to ensure they get along well with other pets and animals as well.
This breed is renowned for its intelligence and alertness, however, due to their friendly nature Cocker Spaniels are poor watchdogs.
As an active sporting dog, this breed requires daily exercise for his physical and mental well-being.
Their medium-length silky coat, traditionally with feathering at the ends is seen in a variety of striking colours and patterns.
