Chow Chow Characteristics
The Chow Chow has an innate sense of dignity and can sometimes appear distant and lonely. They can be reserved with their loved ones when it comes to showing affection and are very independent. Chow Chows can be stubborn to the point of appearing stubborn.
Chow Chows are not dogs that require a lot of attention – in general they do not like to be excessively pampered or hugged. Regardless, they are good and loyal companions for their favourite person. They can learn, but they do not have a strong desire to please their owners, and they will seek to see the function of the orders received.
If a Chow Chow is raised with children, there will be no problem living together, but they do not like to play too much, so this breed is not recommended for homes with children. Their peripheral vision is often limited, so it is advisable to always approach them from the front.
Normally, they have good manners, due to their protective personality they tend to distrust strangers. However, if they have positive experiences with strangers from a young age, they can be tolerant of them. Chows are a very protective and territorial breed and may bond more closely with a single family member.
