Saint Bernard Characteristics
Saint Bernards are extremely cute despite their enormous size. They always want to please and are completely loyal to their family. They need training from a young age to be able to handle their large size and strength.
The St. Bernard was originally created to guard the grounds of the St. Bernard Hospice in Switzerland, as well as to rescue wounded and lost travellers. They are kind, intelligent and friendly. They move slowly and are usually tolerant.
Despite their large size, they are a perfect companion for the family and are calm inside the home. Although they can live perfectly inside the house, they need a large space to stretch out. Saint Bernards generally don’t need much exercise and love cuddles. They are a breed oriented towards being close to people and cannot stand being left alone for a long time. They are not aggressive but will bark if they think they have to. However, its size is enough to scare away a potential thief. They are patient and gentle with children but could accidentally knock over a small child just by wagging their tail.
